Saints and Paris Saint-Germain team up for a week of Paris programming ahead of the Steelers game

The Saints announced a partnership with Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, Oct. 20, built around a joint merchandise collection, a new musical recording with The Soul Rebels, youth programming and fan events across Paris before Sunday’s game against Pittsburgh at the Stade de France.

NEW ORLEANS: Paris week for the Saints now has a local partner. The team announced on Tuesday, Oct. 20, that it has joined with Paris Saint-Germain on a run of fan, community and cultural programming in the French capital, timed to Sunday’s meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Stade de France.

The game itself is the anchor. It is the first NFL regular-season game to be played in France, and kickoff on Sunday, Oct. 25, is set for 8:30 a.m. Central on NFL Network and WDSU, according to the Saints. New Orleans arrived in Paris at 2-4 after Sunday’s 34-27 win over the New York Giants.

Two crests, one shared symbol

Merchandise sits at the center of the deal. Both clubs describe a collection developed with Fanatics, and the Saints say it includes limited-edition jerseys and apparel drawn from the identities of the two teams, with details that point to the fleur-de-lis and its place in both New Orleans and French culture. PSG’s own account names two jerseys: a Paris Red & Blue model in the club’s colours, and a Monogramme model in garnet and gold taken from historic PSG colours. Each carries the number 75, a reference to Paris, and each echoes the fleur-de-lys that both clubs share.

PSG says the Monogramme jersey was revealed on Oct. 18 by Saints running back Alvin Kamara after the Giants game. A separate capsule devoted to the Saints goes on sale on Oct. 22 through the PSG online store and the club’s official stores, both clubs say, and the Saints add a further stop: a Saints House retail pop up on Oct. 24 at Pavillon Vandome.

Music, youth football and a pass over the Seine

The collaboration also produced new music. MYD and Antoine Bouchot worked with The Soul Rebels, the New Orleans brass ensemble, on an original creation for the partnership, which PSG describes as an EP of five reorchestrated tracks. A handcrafted collector jersey, made with the French upcycling workshop LeLabPlus and the artist Ed Broner, arrives with a tote bag and a vinyl release, according to both clubs.

On the ground in Paris, the Saints say their players will attend a UEFA Champions League match between PSG and FC Barcelona at the Parc des Princes, which PSG’s programme listed for Tuesday, Oct. 20. PSG also lists two public events for Friday, Oct. 23: a Hail Mary pass over the Seine near the Petit Pont - Cardinal Lustiger, and a talk with the club’s chief brand officer, Fabien Allegre, at the NFL House in the afternoon.

Youth football runs through the week as well. The Saints say the two clubs will work through PSG for Communities to give local young people a place in football programming and a chance to experience Sunday’s game, and PSG says girls from its Allez les Filles programme will be at the Stade de France on Oct. 25.
