WWE brings Money in the Bank to the Smoothie King Center on Saturday
More than 11,000 tickets are sold for Saturday’s show at the Smoothie King Center, headlined by Reigns vs. Knight for the World Heavyweight Championship and two ladder matches.

NEW ORLEANS: WWE brings one of its biggest events of the year to the Smoothie King Center on Saturday, when Money in the Bank takes over downtown with more than 11,000 tickets sold and a card headlined by Roman Reigns defending the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight.
Knight has spent 20 years in professional wrestling without ever capturing a WWE world championship, and he told TMZ this week that Saturday could be his last real shot. "I’ve probably kind of framed it that way a little bit because it just feels like ... is it my last one ever? I don’t know," Knight said on the outlet’s Inside the Ring podcast.

The show also features the two Money in the Bank ladder matches that give the event its name. The men’s match pits CM Punk, Bron Breakker, Penta, Kevin Owens, Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans against each other, while the women’s match features Lola Vice, Sol Ruca, Roxanne Perez, Jacy Jayne, Lash Legend and Tiffany Stratton. The winners earn a contract for a championship match they can cash in any time in the coming year.
Also announced: Oba Femi against Bronson Reed, and Stephanie Vaquer defending the WWE Women’s World Title in a triple threat against Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan.
The event streams live at 6 p.m. ET on the ESPN App. WWE moved WrestleMania 42 from New Orleans to Las Vegas, so Money in the Bank arrives as the city’s consolation prize.

An October date is unusual for the show, which has traditionally run between May and July, and it puts a major live event in the arena on a Saturday night in the middle of football season.
