New Orleans Public Schools to Open New School Honoring Leah Chase
In August, New Orleans Public Schools is set to inaugurate a district-operated school named after Leah Chase, a prominent civil rights activist and esteemed figure in the culinary world. This new school will cater to 320 students ranging from pre-K to eighth grade, with a strong focus on the rich cultural heritage and history of the city. Housed in a historic building, it will replace the underperforming Lafayette Academy Charter School.
